List the renewal and notice dates in your contracts
- Who it's for
- Small businesses with supplier, software, lease or insurance contracts scattered across folders
- Outcome
- One table of every contract with its renewal date, notice period and the last day to give notice, each with the clause it came from.
- Why Handoff 1
- It reads copies of your contracts and reports. Nothing is cancelled, renewed or sent.
Steps
- Put copies of your contracts and terms (PDFs or documents) in one folder.
- Ask for one row per contract, with the exact clause quoted for every date.
- Check every 'not found' or unclear row against the original yourself.
- Add the notice deadlines to your own calendar, with a reminder a few weeks before.
Copy-paste prompt
Works with any agent. Replace the [square brackets] with your details.
Read the contracts in [folder]. Create a NEW table with one row per contract: supplier, what it covers, start date, end or renewal date, whether it renews automatically, notice period, the last day to give notice, and the file name.
For every date and notice period, quote the exact clause and page it came from. If a value is not stated, write 'not found'; do not estimate or assume standard terms. Do not contact any supplier, cancel or renew anything, or move, rename or delete any files.Notes for each agent
Only features we found in each provider's official documentation on 15 Oct 2026 are stated as product facts, with the source linked. Product features change; check before relying on them.
Claude Suggested
Claude can only read and write files in folders you have connected, and Cowork asks for your explicit permission before permanently deleting files. In Claude Code, Manual mode asks before file edits.

Microsoft Copilot Suggested
At work, Researcher can draw on files you already have access to and cites its sources; it follows your existing Microsoft 365 permissions.

Open agents & automations Suggested
OpenClaw's exec approvals can limit which commands run and ask about anything else ('allowlist' or 'ask' modes). Start there rather than 'full'.

Common failure, and how to catch it
- What goes wrong
- A notice period worked out from the wrong date (for example from signing rather than renewal), or an auto-renewal clause missed in separate terms and conditions.
- How to catch it
- The quoted-clause rule, and checking that each contract's linked terms and conditions are in the folder too.
Time and cost
- Time to set up
- 20 minutes
- Cost
- Uses the AI plan you already pay for. Agent features (browsing, connectors, scheduling) may need a paid tier; check your plan before relying on them.
